The National Redress Scheme is in response to the Royal Commission’s investigation of institutional child sexual abuse. Blackfisch was tasked to create a series of 4 informatory videos ranging from 7-10minutes, for The Scheme, to be used on their website and other outlets. To inform viewers of the support services available, and help those who are seeking Redress gain access to it. Our challenge was to deliver a series of videos of up to 40 minutes, that are trauma-informed, and visually, and verbally communicate to a diverse audience a sensitive subject matter without being triggering. As well as develop human characters without reference to age, ethnicity, expression, and gender. While keeping exclusively to a colour palette of their primary brand colours. The solution was to produce the series as animations blended with kinetic typography. Utilising iconograpy for their universal semantics, as the basis for how artwork was developed.
